Terms & Conditions
1) REGISTRATION OF UK DOMAIN NAMES
(co.uk, org.uk, ltd.uk, plc.uk)
Upon receipt of your order and payment, we will make
an application on your behalf (or that of your customer, if applicable)
for the domain name(s). We make this application to Nominet UK,
which is the UK registry for all internet domain names ending in
.uk. Their website can be found at www.nominet.net.
Nominet UK will advise us by email as to whether the
application has been successful. This can take between a few minutes
and up to 24 hours to be received by us. Upon receipt, we will immediately
notify you by email.
You will receive an official Registration Certificate
directly from Nominet UK, however these are currently taking around
three to four months to arrive, which unfortunately is beyond our
control and is being experienced by every domain registration company
in the country.
Please note the following regarding LTD.UK and PLC.UK
domain names:-
We need the Company Registration Number as issued
by Companies House in order for us to make the application. More
information regarding registration of domains under these suffixes
can be found here
at Nominet UK's website. Applications for these two types of domain
names are currently taking up to two working days to be processed
by Nominet UK.
2) REGISTRATION OF US DOMAIN NAMES (.com, .net, .org)
Upon receipt of your order and payment, we will register
the domain name(s) on your behalf (or that of your customer, if
applicable). We make this application to one of the ICANN-accredited
Registrars - ICANN is the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names
and Numbers and is based in the USA. Their website can be found
at www.icann.org.
US domain names are ordered online in real-time, therefore
we will know immediately whether the registration has been successful
or not. After successful registration, we will immediately notify
you by email.
No official paperwork is issued by the authority for
US registrations. As an alternative, the US Department of Commerce
provides a central database which is permanently available for viewing
at www.internic.net.

3) WEB HOSTING PACKAGES
Upon receipt of your order and payment, we will usually
set your hosting package up within 1-3 hours, although during busy
periods it can take a little longer.
Upon completion, we will immediately advise you of
your username and password by email, along with a detailed instruction
guide and advice on how to contact us should you have any queries
concerning your new account.
All web hosting services may be used for lawful purposes
only. Transmission, storage or presentation of any information,
data or material in violation of any UK law is prohibited. This
includes, but is not limited to: copyrighted material, material
we judge to be threatening, obscene, demeaning to others or material
protected by trade secret and other statute. The subscriber agrees
to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims resulting from
the use of the service which damages the subscriber or any other
party.
Note: pornography and sex-related merchandising are
prohibited on all servers. This includes sites that may infer sexual
content, or that link to adult content elsewhere. This is also true
for sites that promote any illegal activity or content that may
be damaging to our servers or any other server on the internet.
Links to such materials are also prohibited.
In addition, any site-selling or promoting bulk email
services is not allowed.
Our servers may not be the source, intermediary or
destination address involved in the transmission of spam, flames
or mail bombs. Your domain may not be referenced as originator,
intermediary or reply-to address in any of the above. Advertising
sites on other servers, which in turn contain links to a domain
on our servers, is prohibited. We consider spam to be any mass unsolicited
message in the mediums of newsgroups and email. If you are found
to have spammed then we will immediately, without warning, disable
your domain. In addition, we will impose a £100.00 penalty
for each spam policy violation. We reserve the right to refuse or
cancel service to known spammers. Lastly, we reserve the right to
determine what violates this policy. As such, any violation will
result in immediate deactivation of services without refund.
Any attempts to undermine or cause harm to a server
is strictly prohibited.
We do not allow clients to install their own chat
rooms - these take up massive system resources. We can in any case
provide Java chat rooms for an extra charge, which will more than
fill your needs and will run without hindering the performance of
the service for others.
Every hosting account comes with 1 Gb monthly traffic
allowance (bandwidth). Any account exceeding that limit will be
automatically invoiced at a rate of £25.00 per month per additional
1 Gb used. These invoices must be settled within seven days, and
we reserve the right to immediately terminate accounts where bandwidth
invoices are not paid for in full within seven days.

4) CANCELLATIONS
UK domain registrations may only be cancelled within
7 days of purchase, or within the same calendar month as purchase,
whichever is the lesser. For example, domains purchased on 1 January
have until 8 January to be cancelled, but domains purchased on 30
January only have until 31 January to be cancelled.
Because we order non .uk domain registrations online
in 'real-time', they cannot be cancelled and therefore no refunds
are available on non .uk domain names.
5) PAYMENT METHODS
We accept all major credit and debit cards, using
our secure online server and order form. We also accept postal orders
and cheques (made payable to 'Clues Internet Limited') via regular
post.
In the event of a credit/debit card payment being
authorised at time of order, but then subsequently being rejected
as a 'chargeback', or cheques not being honoured, then we reserve
the right to transfer registration of any ordered domain registrations
into our own name, until such time as full payment has been received.
Similarly, web hosting packages will be disabled until full and
proper payment is made.
Monthly Payment Plans - we will send reminders for
payments due each month. Should payments not be forthcoming, we
reserve the right to suspend all services to that account until
such time as payment has been received. Administration charges will
also be applied.
6) COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
All complaints should be made in writing to complaints@clues-internet.co.uk
You should try to explain your complaint with as much detail as
possible. We guarantee to respond to your complaint within 24 hours
and also assure you that we will do our utmost to help resolve the
situation for you.
7) GENERAL
Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected
by any of the above. We reserve the right to change our prices,
and our Terms and Conditions, at any time without prior notice.
