Why transfer your domain name to Smart
Web Hosting?
The bottom line is that you can save
up to 50% from your current registrar.
Still not convinced?
There's more! When you have transferred
to Smart Web Hosting, we will extend your registration from
its current renewal date! You will still benefit from the registration
you have already paid for, plus you will get extra time you pay
for with Smart Web Hosting. For example, if your name expires in
eight months, and you renew with us for one year, your name would
expire in one year and eight months. You would not lose any money
on your original registration!
3 easy steps to transferring your domain
name
1) Fill in the form below for the domain name or list of domains
you want to have transferred.
2) You need to make payment for the order.
We will send an email to the email address listed as the Administrative
Contact of your domain to verify that you are the legitimate person
to transfer the name. You must reply to our email before we will
proceed with transferring your domain.
3) Your current registrar will send you
a confirmation email to confirm your intention to have your domain
transferred to us. It will be sent to the email address listed as
the Administrative Contact information of your name. Please be sure
that this email address is correct or updated. You MUST respond
to this confirmation email within 48 hours or your domain transfer
will be rejected.
Here's all you need to do! Once you approve
the transfer and it has been completed, you are ready to begin using
our services. Your domain name information (including DNS) remains
unchanged until the transfer is completed so you will not experience
any downtime.
Important: Please do not send us your
transfer order if your domain does not meet the following criteria:
Your domain is required to be with the
current registrar for at least 60 days. If you have just registered
or transferred your domain within the last 60 days, your transfer
request will not be accepted.
Your domain cannot have an expired status. You are no longer the
legitimate owner of your domain once it is expired. If your domain
is expired, you must renew it with your registrar before sending
us your transfer order.
Your domain's Administrative Contact information must be valid or
updated. You must be the person listed in the admin contact of your
domain and the email address listed in the admin contact must be
valid or accessible by you.
Note: We do not accept transfer order for .ws, .name domains at
the moment.

Domain Transfer Frequently Asked Questions.
Q) What happens to the time I have left with my current
registrar?
A) Any existing registration time you have with your current registrar
will be transferred over. For example, if you had 1 year and 5 months
left before your domain name expired, then after you transfer, you
would have 2 years and 5 months.
Note: The Registry will not add one more year of registration
to your domain name if you transfer it within 45 days of its renewal
date.
Q) How long does the transfer process take?
A) The transfer process usually takes about 3 to 5 business days
after the transfer order has been verified and submitted. ICANN
regulations specify that the current registrar and registrant must
be given 5 days to respond to the request. However, in most cases,
this process could take up to 8 or 9 days.
Q) Why is my domain transfer taking longer than 10
days?
A) The transfer of your domain could be delayed due to the following
common reasons:
Q) What are your name servers?
A) ns1.livedns.co.uk & ns2.livedns.co.uk
Q) What is your ISP TAG?
A) "FASTHOSTS"
Your domain name has been registered or transferred
to your current registrar for less than 60 days. You can only transfer
the domain to us after it has been with your registrar for 60 days.
This rule applies to all registrars.
Your domain has been locked by your registrar due to outstanding
payment or request by you. You need to contact your registrar to
unlock your domain in this case.
The registrant information you have provided us do not match the
registrant information found in the Whois search. You must ensure
that the email address listed as the Administrative Contact of your
domain is active and working properly, or you will not receive the
verification email from your current registrar.
Q) Do I have to use your services if I transfer (or renew) my domain
name with Smart Web Hosting?
A) No, you may continue using the services you have been using.
Transferring registrar does not change the functionality of the
web site; it changes whom is administering ownership for the domain
name, but not the ownership itself.
Q) Do I need to wait until my renewal date is closer?
A) No. You can transfer/renew at any time and all of the existing
time with your current registrar will be transferred over with your
domain name. In fact, we would strongly advise you to transfer your
domain to us at least 1 month prior to expiry, to avoid any unnecessary
delay and taking the risk of losing it.
Q) Where can I go for further questions regarding
domain transfer?
A) You can reach us through our Contact Page
